About The Breed

Border Collies are known for their athleticism, intelligence, and strong work ethic. The Border Collie is a very special dog. It is a working stock dog and is intelligent, very loving, loyal and gentle. In general, Border Collies love to be with their handler, as they are highly motivated to work in partnership with their owners.

Typical Border Collies are workaholics. They are happiest when they have a job to do. They are highly energetic, extremely quick dogs and they must have plenty of exercise.

At Goose-B-Gone, our Border Collies have gone through extensive training so that they may be independent enough to make their own decisions when they are at a distance from the handler. They have been trained to control their predatory instincts so that they protect the geese instead of killing them as a poorly trained dog would do. Our Border Collies have the stamina to work in the heat or cold, to dart up and down steep hills and can run for miles, all while ignoring distractions in the course of a workday. The most outstanding characteristic of our Border Collies is their desire above everything else,  to work and subordinate to the human companion.

Our Border Collies heard with their heads lowered, eyeing the geese with an intense stare. They notice every movement of the geese, and they react by moving, at times almost imperceptibly to take advantage of or counter it. Movement of both dog and geese is calm and steady.
